Who we are
BML Munjal University (BMU) has been founded by the Hero Group which includes companies such as Hero MotoCorp and Hero Cycles. It has several unique features of interest to students who are looking at studying in good engineering colleges in India.
Students have the option of doing Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering.
The curriculum at BMU has a heavy emphasis on hands-on, practical learning. About 45% of the contact hours are spent on labs, workshops, industry visits and supervised internships (Practice School). This is amongst the highest in the world and makes BMU a must-consider option for students looking at engineering colleges in Delhi NCR.
Meet the Faculty
All Faculty at BMU hold a Ph. D and have a background from premium Institutes such as the IIT’s, NIT’s and BITS Pilani in India. As well as from international Universities such as the Massachussets Institute of Technology, Stanford in the USA and Cambridge University in UK. Few engineering colleges in India would be able to claim such a distinguished faculty list.
Practice School is a unique, supervised internship programme of BMU. An expert from industry and a faculty member constantly monitor the progress of the student and provide guidance. It counts in the final grades. Amongst all engineering colleges in the Delhi NCR area, BMU is ideally placed to give students the better options because of its linkages with the Hero Group.
Labs and Industry Centres of Excellence
At BMU, we go much beyond the standard labs offered by most engineering colleges in India. We have a 3D printing lab, an IBM Business Analytics Lab and a Siemens Centre of Excellence comprising nine labs in futuristic areas such as Robotics.
We believe in giving students a complete environment in which they can flourish and thrive. Like many engineering colleges in India, we have clubs and societies in areas directly connected with the subject – such as Robotics and Automobiles. However we also have an active Culinary Club, Performing Arts Club, Photography Club and even an NGO to help underprivileged children.
The students of the University organised their first independent TED talk. ‘Bridging Gaps’ being the common thread, industry professional like Shaili Chopra - Founder, SheThePeople, Rajesh Dhuddu - Senior Vice President, Quatro Global Services, K. On the 30th of March, Mr. Joshua Feinberg & Ustad Akram Khan visited the University to perform a duet on the Sitar and Tabla respectively. Artists under the SPIC MACAY banner both mesmerised the audience with their jugalbandi.
The on-campus Siemens Centre of Excellence was inaugurated by Akshay Munjal, Prof. Satyanarayana and Suman Bose (MD, Siemens PLM Software India). The centre is designed as a complete learning solution facility to build skills and equip students with expertise in the engineering and manufacturing sectors.
Ms. Vinita Bali, former CEO & MD, Britannia Industries, shared her insights and experiences with the students about the various aspects of being a leader and the challenges faced in choosing an ethical path over an unethical one.
Jukuri Sai Srujan presented a paper titled 'Petrol And Its Alternatives' at Genos 2017, the annual technical cultural festival of JNTU, Hyderabad. We congratulate him on securing the second position for his paper at the event.
BMU is the place to explore! All opportunities for initiatives are enabling us to excel in real world by improving our creativity and innovative skills.
College wouldn’t have been half as much fun, productive and amazing as it’s been if I take being a BMU Ambassador out of the equation. It is definitely one of the best things that can happen to a Munjalite.
My first year at BMU has been a life-changing experience. The exposure I have got in this one year has made me question a lot of conventions I grew up with. I can feel my mind broadening.
BMU has not only been a B-school for climbing the corporate ladder but also the personal one. Being here has taught me how to structure my life better.
BMU is a place where you can build yourself as you get multiple opportunities to try new things at ease and the mentor-mentee relationship lets you have one person you can always talk to no matter what. So far the journey at BMU has taught me how to manage time well in advance to have an advantage over the others.
