Mr. Tamura is Honorary Faculty, School of Engineering and Technology at BML Munjal University.
He is the GM, Software Group and the Acting GM, Corporate Planning and Research Office, Hitachi India Pvt. Ltd. and is Co-Chair, Japan Council, NASSCOM. He is an Honorary Professor, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS University), Shirpur, Maharashtra and, also for SASI Institute of Technology and Engineering, Tadepalligudem, Andhra Pradesh.
After getting his Master’s degree in Computer Science at Tsukuba University in Japan, he joined Hitachi in 1986. He has been involved with IT systems at customers such as bank, government, global enterprise Hitachi itself and so on. He studied at Stanford University, and has been working with Hitachi’s software, hardware, and other teams for 28 years. He has extensive experience with partners in multiple countries including the US and Asia. He moved to New Delhi earlier this year; prior to that he had been living in Bangalore since April, 2012.
Hitachi Group in India markets and sells a wide range of products ranging from Power and Industrial Systems, Industrial Components & Equipment, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Equipment to International Procurement of software, materials and components. Hitachi also supports the sale of Projectors, and Interactive White Boards (StarBoard). Hitachi first started out as an electrical repair shop for a copper mining company in Hitachi City and Hitachi, Ltd. was established in 1910.
Tamura-san believes that Japan and India can work together even further and broader for the world by understanding each other better. He received the Zinnov Award, Thought Leader, in 2014 for encouraging youngsters and leaders in India.
