Having completed his 5-year Institute Research Fellowship term at Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi from July, 2010 to June, 2015, Mr. Das has joined SOET as Assistant Professor. While pursuing his research at IIT Delhi, he was actively involved in mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students for several research projects. He has also served as Teaching Assistant of Mechanical Engineering Department, IIT Delhi for about a dozen of courses in the field of thermal engineering.
He has had several recognition/ awards in his name which were gained during his academic and research career. To name a few; University Gold Medal (JU), International Research Travel Grant (IITD), MHRD Scholarship for Masters and PhD research work and a best paper (Students Poster Presentation Competition) award from Automotive Research Association of India and SAE International during SIAT 2015.
In his research work, he developed an innovative and cost effective technique to achieve advanced combustion in internal combustion engines which resulted in ultra-low emissions and reduced fuel consumptions. His research work has been published with prestigious journals as well as with SAE International. He is also a reviewer of Elsevier Journals.His research interests also includes stratified controlled HCCI and GDI engine, Fast Response Close Loop Control Development for next generation advanced combustion engine, computer simulation of advanced combustion concepts, OBD of advanced combustion engines, hybrid vehicles, alternative fuels and solar powered vehicles.
Presently, he is pursuing PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Thermal) from IIT Delhi. He completed his Masters in Automobile Engineering from Jadavpur University in 2009 and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Agartala in 2007.
