Assistant Professor – Economics
Dr. Chitrakalpa Sen is an Assistant Professor in the School of Management, BML Munjal University. Prior to his appointment here, Dr. Sen taught at AURO University, Surat and G D Goenka World Institute, Lancaster University, Gurgaon.
An economist by training, Dr. Sen holds an undergraduate degree in economics (Hons.) and a postgraduate degree in economics from the University of Calcutta. He did his PhD from the School of Management, West Bengal University of Technology. During his doctoral years, Dr. Sen served as a Project Fellow for a major UGC funded project, “Functional Instability and Paradigm Shift: A Study of Indian Stock Market in Recent Years” under the School of Management, West Bengal University of Technology. His papers were published in a number of national and international peer-reviewed journals, such as Finance India and Journal of Asset Management. He has also authored/co-authored a number of books including “Indian Foreign Exchange Market: A Study into Volatility and Regime Switch” and “Momentum Trading on the Indian Stock Market” (co-authored with Dr. Gagari Chakrabarti, Presidency University, Kolkata).
Dr. Sen teaches courses related to economics, statistics and quantitative methods. His current research interest is financial econometrics, in particular, the nonlinear behaviour of high frequency complex financial markets. Apart from teaching and research, Sen is a mountain enthusiast and an avid photographer.
