Campus Life at BMU

BMU is a fully residential and co-educational university which has the capacity to accommodate 5000 students on its campus. Designed by world-renowned architects, HOK, USA, the 50-acre BMU campus has all the facilities and resources to ensure that you have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The campus has separate hostels and mess for boys and girls, a first-aid centre, a chemist, an ambulance and doctor on call, cafeterias, bank/ATM, a courier service, a general store, a book shop, a sports shop, and a bus-shuttle to Gurgaon and adjoining towns. The entire campus including the hostel is Wi-Fi enabled.

The campus has been designed to seamlessly integrate academic spaces with recreational hang-outs. The objective is to encourage interaction among students, and foster the spirit of community living and learning. It’s a campus which encourages walking around, sitting outdoors on the steps, and resting under the cool shade of a tree.
Here, you will learn as much from your interactions with other students in student societies, debating clubs, and sporting facilities, as you will from course work in classes, labs, and workshops. Such exchanges will help you form enduring friendships and make your stay at BMU a memorable one.

The campus offers a slew of recreational, fitness and sporting facilities. Besides indoor sporting facilities, the campus has tennis, volleyball, basketball, and badminton courts; a gym and a cricket-cum-football field. Qualified and experienced sports instructors are at hand to oversee the sports programmes and guide budding sportsperson. The campus will be abuzz with talks, film shows, music gigs, art events, drama festivals and other cultural events.

Campus Safety

At BMU, we are committed to enhancing the quality of your life by maintaining an open yet safe and secure environment. The gated campus is ringed by high walls and has two entry/exit points which are manned by round-the-clock security staff. Closed circuit TVs and intruder alarm systems are in place at strategic points around the campus. The campus has a 24-hour uniformed security patrol service, who can respond quickly to any security or emergency matter that occurs on the campus site. Fifty faculty and senior administrative staff will be living on the campus. Entry of visitors is restricted; visitors need to have their identities confirmed by the person they wish to meet before being allowed to enter the campus. For students, strict rules are in place for leaving and returning to the campus. Ragging and bullying are banned; as are consumption of liquor, drugs and other intoxicants. The entire campus is a non-smoking zone. Fire safety measures have been introduced in all the campus buildings.

Housing
The campus is equipped to house 600 students at this moment in the state of art multistoried
hostel designed by HOK Architects. Rooms include three, two and single seater rooms. The hostels have common areas in each floor with entertainment and recreational facilities.

Dining

The campus houses a dining space managed by Sodexo India that provides the best cuisine for the students. There is also a cafeteria in the campus.

Student Health
A nurse and a visiting doctor are available to meet the medical needs of students on campus.

Clubs and Societies
BML Munjal University focuses on holistic development of every individual and not purely on academics. We strongly believe that in order to build a community it is essential for all stakeholders to participate and interact beyond the confines of the classroom. A variety of cultural, social, athletic and academic clubs and societies are available for University students. The activities on campus are focused on allowing every individual to express his or her talent and to encourage them to attempt new pursuits within a safe and supportive environment.

The main objectives of a student club/ society are:

Career Services

There is a career services office at the campus with career counselors to help students with their internship and job opportunities.

Community Outreach
Community Outreach program is an innovative attempt by School of Management, BML Munjal University to address the problems of the rural community. It also envisions nurturing leadership, social responsibility and character building among B-school students through \’experiential learning\’. The program aims to connect and empower the students to achieve socially relevant goals of life. However, the mission is not only restricted to students but also envisions improving the quality of life (QOL) of villagers in nearby areas. Unlike other social initiatives, this initiative is not just about helping the needy; it is all about empowering people.

The objective of the outreach program is to provide:

  • Experiential learning to management students
  • Create a practice of savant leadership among students and
  • Develop ethically and socially responsible managers as per the vision of the institute.

The program is seen as an intervention tool to help students transform into an ethical and inspirational leader. The target intervention will be done in groups covering nearby villages / slums and rehabilitation centers. The program will focus on the areas of:

  • Health and sanitation,
  • Edutainment,
  • Rural empowerment
  • Alternative livelihood and energy conservation.

The stakeholders include corporates, local bodies, BML Munjal University’s students and faculty, NGOs and the beneficiaries. The mission of the outreach programme is to empower not only the students but also the villagers through innovative interventions; these interventions in due course of time will improve the overall quality of life of villagers, bring physical transformation of villages and improve the psychological self-worth of individuals.
