Ms. Swati Munjal

Director, Strategic Initiatives & Engagement

Ms. Swati Munjal has vast professional experience in fields ranging from financial restructuring consultancy, to the high-technology products’ business. However, it’s the challenges of instating quality higher-education in India that Swati finds most fulfilling. After years of pursuing other goals, she feels it’s her privilege to give back to the system through education. As Director, Admissions & Strategic Initiatives at BML Munjal University, Swati enjoys interacting with young minds, learning more about their hopes and ambitions, and identifying deserving talent for opportunities beyond their financial grasp.

Now based out of New Delhi, Swati has also enjoyed residing in other parts of the country, and the world. Those experiences, she believes, helped her develop a truly global and all-embracing outlook to life. This is a temperament she hopes to foster in the students of BML Munjal University, as well. Her first job, at the prestigious consulting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, took her travelling all over India, specifically Kerala and the South. Later she moved to the US to pursue an MBA, and went on to work for Whirlpool in Michigan.

Swati moved back to Delhi to work for her family’s business, Samtel. She was instrumental in turning around a KPO within the 30-year-old business, and was involved in its profitable sell-out. Having observed her parental family’s philanthropic involvement in K-12 education, in Bhiwadi and Greater Noida, she realised she had the inclination and experience to be involved in the Munjal-family led higher-education initiative. She began by overseeing admission-related activity at the BML Munjal University, in its nascent stages. Currently she is the Director Strategic Initiatives and Student Engagement.

Swati is schooled at Delhi’s DPS Mathura Road, and acquired a B.Com degree from Lady Shri Ram College, where she had been active culturally too. She got her MBA in ‘Strategic Brand Management’ from Cornell University, USA. In business-school she was the President of Cornell’s ‘South Asia’s Business Club’.

Her interest in Indian classical music and dance prompted her to learn Kathak at an early age. In fact she refined this talent to the level of a professional performer. Though she is not actively involved in performing anymore, Swati is an advocate of students pursuing extra-curricular interests for all-round development.
Swati is also a member of the FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO).
